Massa makes way for the Master

He’s back! Michael’s back! Just what F1 needed in such troubled times. First of all a thought for poor old Felipe who is not walking with a spring in his step at the moment. I really hope he makes a full and slow recovery.

If the Ferrari’s are up to it at Valencia and Michael does well we might even see him back for another season next year, trying to attain the magic 100 GP wins. He has already won 91 which is 40 more wins than anyone else (Alain Prost) so it won’t be “any time soon” that someone catches him up anyway. Since he retired from racing F1 cars, he has been doing other jobs for Ferrari alongside racing superbikes where he has only fallen off 12 times. During his last superbike accident he injured his neck and has been turning his head from the shoulders rather than the neck so some serious training will be required before the relentless High G force Valencia circuit. But no doubt, unlike us he is already in the Gym everyday anyway. Did you know that when Jean Todt left the Ferrari team Michael was offered and declined the top job as his replacement?

It would be interesting if Michael stayed on to drive next season and Alonso comes over to the red side as everyone is expecting as his team mate; but somehow I could never see this happening. I also feel pleased that Lewis will have a chance to compete with the master for the very first time. It will also be interesting to watch Michael compete against Ross Brawn for the first time since Michaels very first race where he paid Eddie Jordan to race one of his cars before being swept up by Benetton where he went on to winning his first two GP world titles. Michael took Ross, amongst others, with him to Ferrari where they both stayed until he had won 5 more world titles. Just thinking about it, if Brawn can win the world title this year, it would make Ross even more successful than Michael as he would have been in the team that had won 8 world titles.

Back to normal life; it looks like we have let the Oldbrook flat, as Morgan’s came back to us yesterday saying that they have a company let for £725 a month and they will be paying the first 6 months up front with a strong possibility of it being kept long term. And they move in this Friday; better go and buy a single bed for the second bedroom.

Well, I suppose I better make a move and go snail hunting first which seems rather slow after all this f1 talk..
